The Austin Public Library kicks off a summer full of reading, story times, programs and special events for everyone from toddlers to teens on May 30 from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Ruiz Branch, 1600 Grove Blvd.

Get the summer started off right with a celebration that highlights the upcoming Summer Reading Program events and activities.

1 PM | Performance by Elizabeth Kahura. Ms. Kahura will take us on an African Safari followed by crafts and literacy activities.

3 PM | The Linder Eagle Choir / Mariachi Las Águilas de Linder will perform, so make sure to bring your dancing shoes!

In addition to a summer full of great reading, the Austin Public Library has loads of fun events beginning June 7. For more information and specific event details, check out austinsummerreading.org.
