The Miracle Foundation, an Austin-based non-profit, hopes to raise $70,000 with its Mother’s Day campaign by May 10. Funds raised will pay the annual salaries and room and board of the housemothers working in its orphanages.

The Miracle Foundation turns struggling, institutional orphanages in the developing world into stable, nurturing homes. They provide access to basic food, clean water, clothing, schooling, medical care and more. Each Miracle Foundation housemother acts as a mom to 20 orphaned children in her care, creating an environment where they can thrive.

The Miracle Foundation began in 2000, when Austinite Caroline Boudreaux found herself at an orphanage in a remote village in India. She was horrified by the living conditions in which the children lived and captivated by their strength and untapped potential. Caroline and her team committed themselves to developing a repeatable method to help as many orphaned children as possible.
