Seton Healthcare Family and Round Rock Premium Outlets celebrated the opening of a private mother’s lounge at the outlet mall on December 16. The lounge offers mothers a convenient, quiet space to breastfeed during shopping visits, officials said.
Located near the Food Court in the center of the outlet mall, the lounge features a comfortable chair and table, a DVD player and flat screen TV, a bathroom sink and mirror, a small play area for toddlers and a diaper changing station.
“This is an excellent opportunity for us to provide a location for moms to breast feed their babies in the privacy of a nice lounge,” said Brian Lidiak, vice president and chief operating officer for Seton Medical Center Williamson. “What we found is that by providing this type of location, we’ve seen compliance rate with breast feeding go up, which is better in the long term for babies.”
