On Tuesday, Feb. 16, in recognition of National Teen Dating Violence Awareness & Prevention Month, young performers will present an evening of dance and spoken word. This annual event brings together teen artists and activists from around the Austin area to speak out against dating violence andperform messages of healthy relationships. The event is open to the public and free of charge.

Hosted by Expect Respect, a program of SAFE Alliance, the event runs from 6 to 8:30 p.m. at the Travis High School Theatre, 1211 E. Oltorf St.

Performers include the Mendez Middle School dancers, the Travis High School Rebelettes, Shasparay Lighteard and Changing Lives Youth Ensemble, a collaboration of Creative Action and Expect Respect.
