ZACH Theatre announced performance dates for the reinvented classic, Stiles and Drewe’s The Three Little Pigs, February 27 through April 25. Included in the dates is a sensory-friendly performance on March 7 at 2 p.m.

“This is ZACH’s first time doing a sensory-friendly performance, but we are looking to make this a new tradition for all our Theatre for Families shows,” said Chad Dike, manager of the Performing Arts School at ZACH Theatre. “ZACH has always been open to anyone in Austin, but with this performance we hope to create a welcoming environment for all families.”

Dike said the performance itself will be similar to other performances, with some minor tweaks, including alterations to lighting and sound and more relaxed house rules. “Ushers will use glow sticks to indicate where potentially loud noises, bright lights or sudden changes may occur,” Dike said.

“All seating will be general admission to better accommodate individual family needs, and each family will have space to spread out in the theater before, during and after the performance,” Dike said. “Families will be allowed to come and go as needed during the performance. We will provide quiet space in the lobby or on the plaza, should weather cooperate. Before arriving at the performance, families will receive a welcome packet including a social story, walking students through the day of the performance, even allowing them to see some of the people and characters they will meet.”

The musical production, geared to appeal to audience members aged 3 and up, uses elements of hip-hop, R&B and Broadway music for a modern twist on a childhood favorite. Tickets are available online at www.zachtheatre.org, by phone at 512-476-0541 x1, or in person at the ZACH Theatre Box Office, in the Topfer Theatre, 202 South Lamar Blvd. (corner of Riverside Drive and South Lamar Blvd.)
